inspiring design for the masses

A few days ago I blogged about my love of the current removable wall decal trend. In the post I neglected to show some of the cool stuff they’re doing with kid’s stuff.

Again from Canada’s Surface Collective… in particular I love the “height measuring decals” where you move the birdies to show measurements on the plant measure (below top left).

You can also find kid’s decals that are made up of a tons of pieces to put all around the room  instead of something that reads like one piece of artwork (as most of my examples show). This is great because your little tyke can help place them around the room. Oh, what fun! You can buy the ones pictured below, in Canada, here.

Love the growth chart! These are fantastic for renters like myself who can’t just paint on the wall when the feel like it (like my old house in London where I painted a mural in my kitchen and I swear re-painted my bathroom about 4-5 times when living there for a year!) – I guess that’s what happens when your in school for fine art and have your own house as a canvas! Again search around you never know where you can find them, I found kids one at a local dollar store near my house ranging from $1.00-9.00!

Ikea also sells some, not as nice but they do have different ones every once in awhile and are about $20

    Hey Heather!

Good point on these being a perfect solution for renters. Being a renter myself I’m not sure how I missed that angle. :) The tips on where to find decals for bargain prices are much appreciated (my readers thank you, too)!
