C is for cookies, it’s good enough for me, oh…

My sister, found this great image of a cupcake while searching for discounts/coupons. As soon as she saw it she knew she had to make them. Seeing as I live with her, I obviously had to get my hands in the pot and be apart of making this:

There was no recipe so we made a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and tried to make them small. Then we made cupcakes from a white cake recipe. The topping we figured out to be blue royal icing, tinted blue sweet coconut and white and dark chocolate chipits for the eyes.  They were a lot of fun to make, but time consuming!

We hope to make them again… but next time I want to  figure out how to make the cupcake top higher and have the eyes stand up rather then lay down (like in the inspiration photo).
