Spring is arriving!
(well, hopefully). After all we did celebrate it’s 2009 birth just a few days ago. Most inspiring spring designs are about green and life but for me spring starts with empty branches and earth so my spring inspiration is… twigs.
Here are some great ideas as DIYs, purchase or ideas. I’ve come up with a few good ideas, which I sketched. I plan to make one of them in the next few weeks so stayed tuned for sketches, pics and how-to.
This Twig Chandelier was created by a blogger named Kevin. He used twigs he liked, tools on hand and about $35 in hardware. You’ve got to have a little bit of wiring know how to pull this one off (just ask your dad to help!). It’s pretty! Read his how-to instructions here.
I love this simple and clever idea for a clothing rod (find similar ideas at ApartmentTherapy). These vine sphere lampshades are a great find from Viva Terra, too bad they’re all sold out.
I love, love this one (partially because I’m infatuated with decals). Now, this is a project anyone can do. Wood print contact paper and scissors transforms this cheap window shade. Read Jess’ instructions here.
This obviously doesn’t incorporate twigs but its still in the bring-the-outdoors-in theme. These sand lights were created using high temperature caulking and sand. You can find the details here as well as many other cool DIYs.
