
Peppermint Layer Cake
CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 3/4 cups sifted cake flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
1. Measure sifted flour, baking powder, and salt; mix together in a bowl.

Last month I got inspired and a little ambitious and made Maple Gingerbread Layer Cake with Salted Maple-Caramel Sauce. It’s the most complex cake I have ever made. Previous to this endeavour I had never made my own caramel sauce or candied pecans or made a whipping cream based frosting. It was fun!
It was as yummy as it looks!
