desk talk

January 24, 2011 DIY, interior design Comments

As I recently relocated my nest, I found myself thinking about my workspace and how it impacts my productivity, creativity and work-flow. This led to thoughts about how our workspaces, to a degree, reflect who we are. For instance mine would tell you that I really like teal, markers, asymmetry, textures and clean lines. What does your space say about you? Have you thought about it?

Obviously, the biggest part of our workspace are the desks we work on. So, today I’m presenting my round up of unique, statement-making desks. Ranging from prototypes to DIY projects there’s bound to be something that sparks your interest.

I saw the potential in this small Port Stanley store so I offered my services to give it a little facelift. :) With a tiny budget we set out to transform the place.

I decided on, what I’m calling, a Rustic Beach Theme - light & airy with antique/rustic touches.

I’ve always been fascinated by light! I love it’s ability to transform any boring space into something magical. I’m really digging the recent emphasis on solar-powered lights.

As you know, whenever I’m able, I love promoting products that are available to the average southwestern ontarian. So for you folks, here’s my selection of the coolest of the cool! (Good for the environment and affordable, too!)
